Phillip J. Monthie is an Associate of Higgins, Roberts & Suprunowicz, P.C.  His practice concentrates in the areas of estate planning, estate administration, estate taxation, tax law, elder law, Medicaid practice, business law and formation, and real property.  Phillip joined the firm in September of 2018.

Phillip completed law school at Albany Law School of Union University. He earned his M.B.A. from Clarkson University, during which he studied at Jiao Tong University in Shanghai, China. Furthermore, Phillip earned his B.S. in Accounting at Siena College, during which he studied in Lyon, France. After graduating from Siena College, Phillip worked for The Ayco Company, A Goldman Sachs Company. It was during this position that Phillip worked with a wide variety of clients, gaining experience in the area of complex tax, asset protection, and financial planning.

During Law School Phillip clerked for U.S. District Court Senior Judge Lawrence Kahn, U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Robert Littlefield, and Albany County Surrogate’s Court Judge Stacy Pettit. Furthermore, he clerked for FINRA in New York City.

Phillip is a member of the New York State Bar Association. He is a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, and Bethlehem Triathlon Club.

Phillip was born in Clifton Park, New York. He and his wife, Meghan, a Family Medical Doctor, live in the Capital Region. Phillip is training for Ironman Mount Tremblant taking place in Quebec, Canada.
